Festivus
Every summer my family’s cabin and a few neighboring cabins compete in a mini olympics called Festivus (yep, like in Seinfeld). In 2023, I was in charge of designing t-shirts. Our cabins are on a lake in Finland, which is full of fish, so I made them our mascots. These aquatic cuties come in varied shapes and sizes, so I kept the color palette simple. I love the Finnish flag’s crisp white and sea blue, which worked, as the tee base was white.

Typeface
I complimented my cartoon fish with a hand-drawn and (purposely!) child-like typeface.
Final Design
I gave my cabin, Kuikanpesä, the best fish mascot: A mighty pike with dagger-like teeth.
